 Speaker: Prof. NISHIMURA Mikiko

Professor, International Christian University
(Sociology of Education and International Educational Development;
Division of Arts and Sciences, College of Liberal Arts)
President, Japan Society for Africa Educational Research

After her undergraduate studies, she pursued a Master’s degree in Development Studies at the University of Sussex, UK. She engaged in international cooperation as a research intern at
ActionAid, an Associate Specialist at JICA, and a researcher at a consulting firm. She obtained a Doctor of Education (Ed.D) from Teachers College, Columbia University. She held associate
professorships at Kobe University and International Christian University before assuming her current position. Her interests include the empirical analysis of education reforms and policies,
community participation in school management, gender and education, and liberal arts education
