The Cambodia Graduates Research Follow-up Seminar Celebrates Its 10th Anniversary

On December 27-28, 2024, at the Phnom Penh Teacher Education College (PTEC) in the capital of Cambodia, we held our annual Research Follow-up Seminar for Graduates. To commemorate its 10th anniversary, this year’s seminar was extended to two days.

On the first day, December 27, there were 14 presentations. In addition to presentations from alumni and current students, there were also practice-oriented research presentations by graduates of PTEC and Battambang Teacher Education College (BTEC) who are now working as schoolteachers.

On the second day, December 28, we held a panel session themed “Let’s Think about Education in Cambodia Together: A Sharing Session You Can Hear Diverse Stories from Diverse Educators.” The session featured five panelists: alumni now working at the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport in Cambodia; the president of PTEC; and our professors Taiji Hotta, Takuya Baba, and Kinya Shimizu.

The seminar brought together over 100 participants, both in person and online, highlighting the strong vertical connections between our university’s alumni, their students, and graduates (Check out the Event Program here).

It was also a reaffirmation of the significant role HU alumni play in the educational development of Cambodia.
