Standard schedule of master’s course

The following is a standard schedule for the graduate school master’s course (first term of the doctoral course) from admission to completion of the course.

In the first year of the master’s course, students take classes and seminars primarily to obtain the credits required for completion (course work). In addition, through the two years of the master’s course, the students receive research guidance from a supervisor.

Under the research guidance of supervisors, surveys are conducted from the first year to the second year as preparation for writing the master’s thesis. In the second year, an interim presentation of the master’s thesis is conducted approximately six months before submission, and the write-up proceeds based on feedback to the presentation. After submission of the master’s thesis and presentation at the final presentation meeting, the degree is awarded following an in-school examination.

(NB) In the case of April admission, the first year begins with the first semester.
