Research Areas and Themes
My specialties are international cooperation in education and teacher policy. In Japan’s international cooperation in education, I have focused on Japan’s programs/projects for improving teachers’ classroom practices at the primary and secondary levels over the last 50 years, and analyzed the features of and changes to Japanese approaches. In addition, I have been involved in JICA’s education programs/projects a for more than 10 years as a practitioner. Recently, I have become interested in the career development and perceptions of Japanese teachers who have experience overseas after returning to Japan, and I plan to conduct research on this theme.
Research Areas and Themes of the Students
Although I am not able to accept students due to my secondment period, I can accept students as sub-supervisor. Consultation service is available for those who would like to be involved in JICA’s programs.
